10 female wrestlers that ICW should be booking more

Sarah Grieve and Kwaku Adjei team up here to run down 10 of the top female wrestlers competing in the UK that they’d love to see more of in ICW.

Insane Championship Wrestling are off to a flyer in finding a new number one contender to Kasey’s ICW Women’s World Championship. It’s easy to see why, as the female wrestling scene across Britain and Ireland is producing more talent than ever before.

Here in Scotland, in particular, we are spoiled for choice at times. Discovery Wrestling recently held their first all-female Disco Derby. Angel Hayze made her ICW debut at the most recent Fight Club tapings against Aivil plus NXT UK’s Isla Dawn looks like she’s got her eyes on the ICW gold as she makes her return to the promotion in September

Names such as Carmel, Jayla Dark, Nikki Storm and Sara Marie Taylor paved the way for women in Scotland.

With current names Kasey, Aivil, Viper and Kay Lee Ray continuing the legacy, ICW are on the look out for a fresh crop to continue on the women’s division.

With so many names to choose from across the UK at present, Sarah and Kwaku take this opportunity to look at a handful of women ICW should book in the future, or book to make a return to the company.

Sarah’s picks

Debbie Keitel

This woman should be getting booked everywhere. She is such an impressive talent coming out of Ireland.

Current Fierce Females Internet Champion and the Empress of Phoenix. Not to mention, she’s a WOKE QUEEN!

I have been a huge fan of Keitel since she made her debut at Fierce Females against Jokey/Aivil.

Those women put on three outstanding matches, including a hardcore match and a ‘only bins allowed’ match.

Keitel’s experience from those matches shows she would not be out of place or left in the dust at ICW. She’s highly entertaining and someone really great to watch in the ring.

Join her up with Valkyrie and they will not fail to connect with the crowd as the Woke Queens.

Valkyrie

Lovable babyface or dastardly heel, Valkyrie is one of the most entertaining wrestlers on the scene today.

She holds an impressive CV to-date, as the reigning OTT Wrestling Women’s champion and current Irish Junior Heavyweight champion.

Fun fact! She was the first-ever female Irish Junior Heavyweight champion.

I’ve been able to see Valkyrie showing off her charisma, as well as skill within the ring.

She isn’t scared to compete in intergender matches as well as single gender matches.

Whether she’s on her own and the lovable babyface, or if she’s alongside Debbie as the Woke Queens, you’re guaranteed to be entertained by Valkyrie.

Raven Creed

Raven Creed would be an absolutely amazing fit for ICW.

Creed is a former OTT Women’s champion and a name that people are talking about more and more every week.

She’s been a key player in the women’s wrestling over in Ireland, as well as becoming a main stay in Fierce Females.

Raven’s unhinged look is something that makes her stand out above others. Her bold, no bullshit attitude could easily see her fit nicely into the ICW women’s roster.

Like Valkyrie, she isn’t afraid to get into the ring and fight the men as well, having had numerous outstanding intergender matches in the past.

She’d definitely give Kasey a run for her money as the baddest bitch around.

Emily Hayden

I can never say a bad word about Emily Hayden. She is the best, the beautiful, the only.

She is a sensational scenebird and one of the most charismatic people I have ever come across in life.

Having recently been kayfabe fired from Fierce Females (I’m still sad about that), Emily showed she can do well to connect with the crowd and provide an entertaining match.

Her ‘I Do’ match with Sammie Jo was one of the most entertaining matches I’ve seen in a long time. Give her a chance, along with Toastie the unplugged toaster, and she has the ability to tell a great story inside the ring.

Not to mention, Hayden has appeared at ICW before. Maybe now is the time they bring her back?

Lana Austin

We haven’t seen Lana Austin in an ICW ring since her win over Viper in 2017 at a show in Leeds.

To me, that’s a shame. Lana is well known for her “ass”ets, but that doesn’t take away from her ability to get in the ring and bring the fight to whoever is standing opposite her.

She’s got the skills to pull off the high flying moves, as well as the technical ability to wrestle people to the mat when she needs to.

Lana has made her name very well known up and down the wrestling scene as of late.

Recently debuting at NXT UK and formally used at Impact wrestling, Lana and her ability to get over with any crowd she’s in front of is something to be desired and hopefully she can make her way north to Glasgow once again.

Kwaku’s picks

Anastasia

Since making her professional debut in 2018, ‘The Beauty from the Borders’ has been making a name for herself up and down the UK.

She’s a great all rounder in the ring who always has presence. Whether it’s her high kicks, gymnastic flair or power.

I’d love to see Anastasia making more appearances in ICW. She made her debut with the promotion against Viper at King of Hawners this year.

I’m confident to say she’ll be a future Women’s Champion of the World.

Angel Hayze

People have been going “Crazy for Hayzey” recently. With good reason too as she’s proving to be a real gem in the Scottish Wrestling Scene lately.

In such a short amount of time, Angel has been making appearances all over Scotland and even down in England.

I’ve seen Angel a few times at Source, Fierce Females and at the Discovery Wrestling Disco Derby. Her matches are always exciting to watch and you’re always invested.

Hayze will be making her EVE Wrestling debut in September against her mentor – ICW stalwart Sammii Jayne.

She made her ICW debut recently against Aivil and I really hope that’s the first of many ICW appearances for her.

Ashley Vega

‘The Most Beautiful Girl in the World’ has really hit the ground running in 2019.

In January, she made debuts in EVE down in London as well as Discovery Wrestling up in Edinburgh, all in the space of a week.

The charismatic Vega is entertaining. Not to mention she backs it up in the ring and her work as a heel will make for very interesting feuds that would have you hooked.

Ayesha Raymond

Fresh from her latest tour in Japan, Ayesha is someone who has made a name for herself around the world.

She has competed for ICW before back in 2013 in a tournament for the Fierce Females Title.

A great worker and absolute unit, Ayesha has been really prominent in recent years. She’s been seen competing in the WWE Mae Young Classic plus ITV’s World of Sport shows.

Raymond has had a long history of matches with Viper in other promotions such as EVE and I would personally love to see these two in a feud in ICW.

Sierra Loxton

‘The Freaky Princess’ out of South Wales has actually wrestled twice for ICW in 2017 during their UK Tour in Cardiff.

The powerhouse known for tearing it up in the ring is not deterred from any challenge and is well loved south of the border.

Sierra was an entrant in this year’s Riptide Rumble which had the likes of Viper, Wild Boar and Zack Gibson.

Loxton is unfortunately currently out with a back injury. We wish her a speed recovery and hope to see her in ICW up in Glasgow soon.
