One of the Nine9 and promising Scottish wrestler Jack Morris speaks to Suplex Retweet
Listen now on
He’s only been wrestling for a couple of years, but he is already being touted by one of Scotland’s most promising wrestlers. But it all could have been so much different for Jack Morris.
Morris originally trained as a professional football, even signing a contract with Cowdenbeath. A fox in the box type striker, he loved scoring goals
However, injuries curtailed his career early on. So he decided to then make the transition into the world of professional wrestling.
Not one to do things half arsed, Jack traveled round the world in order to learn his craft, before returning to Scotland in early 2018 looking to make his mark.
Be it in Respect Pro Wrestling or Reckless Intent, Morris has shown he has what it takes to make it in the industry. Ask the great Doug Williams, who wrestled Jack on his retirement tour of the UK.
Recently, it’s made his way into ICW as a result of his tag team with Dickie Divers. And the team has already earned the admiration of the Suplex Retweet team, not just for their in-ring skills, but from their name – the Nine9 – after the popular TV show Brooklyn Nine Nine then is frequently mentioned on most ESSR podcasts.
Here, Steven Wilson talks to Jack about transitioning from being a professional footballer to becoming a wrestler, training around the world, wrestling up and down the country in such quick time and what’s in store for the future.
